Berkeley Heights Township Council Interferes with Residents Rights

December 3, 2017

The same law that gives the Berkeley Heights Township Council and Mayor their power also provides the town's residents the right to partake in the Town Government through initiative and referendum.

It is a shame that the Berkeley Heights Township Council has chosen to continuously interfere with the execution of these rights that have been afforded to the Berkeley Heights Residents and Taxpayers.

For a Council looking to ignore an act that seeks for more open governing is a disgrace.   We believe that the public deserves a vote and has the right to decide if they approve of these defined responsibilities that help protect the Residents of Berkeley Heights.
