Where do I stand on public safety?

A safe town is the quiet foundation under every other local issue — property values, schools, downtown business, and whether kids can bike to a friend’s house. Berkeley Heights is safe because police officers, firefighters, and EMS volunteers show up and do the work. They should never have to wonder whether their local government stands behind them.

My commitments

  • Fully support and fund our police department — staffing, training, and equipment decided by public-safety needs, not politics.
  • Back our volunteer fire companies and EMS, whose service saves this town money every single year and deserves recognition and support.
  • School safety and traffic enforcement as standing priorities — safe routes, safe crossings, and speed enforcement where families actually walk.
  • Emergency preparedness: storms and flooding are our most frequent emergencies; coordination and communication before, during, and after must be routine.
  • Respect, publicly and consistently. Gratitude to the people who serve is not a campaign line; it is how a town keeps good people serving.
